Lagrange - Saint Julien 2020 750MLThe 2020 Lagrange is a fine follow up to the excellent 2019. Offering up aromas of crme de cassis and plums mingled with hints of violets, licorice, pencil shavings and vanilla pod, it's medium to full bodied, fleshy and layered, with a deep core of ripe but vibrant fruit that's framed by powdery tannins that assert themselves with gentle grip on the finish.

There is good volume to the nicely concentrated and fleshy medium weight flavors that possess a sappy mouthfeel that buffers the bone-dry

Here too there is a whiff of petrol suffusing the cool green fruit

Crafted with Hyogo-grown Yamadanishiki rice polished to an extraordinary 35%

although it does not quite have the delineation of the Lynch Bages
