Exclusive Vintage Creative Kokeshi By Kenichi Murakami (1929-) | 19,5 cmThis is a powerful doll by the famous awardwinning Kenichi Murakami. The deep carved lines on her head and body beautifully define the hair and kimono. Murakami was born in 1929 and initially studied oil painting in the 1940s. Around the mid 40s, he began to study and create Shingata kokeshi. His kokeshi are all about showing the wood and its texture with very little paint. Most even have wood burned designs.
