Shapes of the Ocean - Boundaries 26Unique coastal landscapes captured from an aerial perspective. Oceans are the engine of the Earth's ecosystem. Covering almost 71% of our planet and a crucial part of our existence, they regulate the exchange and storage of carbon dioxide and control the climate. Since I started photographing from an aerial perspective I have a passion for documenting the vast oceans and its ever changing patterns. Especially (remote) coastal areas offer some unique

rocks or just water streams

Sand dunes are formed as a result of the Earth's erosional and depositional forces

barrel-shaped waves that are simply just mesmerizing to look at

The seawater evaporates in successive ponds until the seawater is fully concentrated and the salt then crystallizes on the floor of the pond

or the angle of the sun

Most of these waterscapes only exist for a short time as they are very dependent on natural forces like wind

which is especially visible from an aerial perspective

according to the strength of the wind and the size of the sand particles

Rock is eroded by physical and chemical processes like wind and water
